Candy Hearts Crafts for Valentine’s Day

You know Valentine’s Day is near when you see the bags of conversation hearts lining the candy aisle, and you want to dig through them to find the sweetest - or silliest - phrases. These ubiquitous holiday candies do more than satisfy a sweet tooth. They also make great Valentine’s Day crafts that adults and kids can enjoy. Make them to decorate your home or office, and don’t forget to sneak a few while you work.
Candy Heart Craft Ideas:
Candy Heart Wreath
You’ll find a different sweet saying every time you look at a Valentine’s wreath covered in conversation hearts. They are so easy to make you can give them away as gifts, which are great for grandparents or teachers.
- craft foam sheets in desired color
- white craft glue
- conversation candy hearts
- ribbon in desired color or pattern
- Cut a wreath shape out the foam sheet.
- Glue the candy hearts onto the wreath. Start with two or three rows of hearts, whichever it takes to cover the foam backing. Then, glue another row of hearts on top of the bottom row for a raised effect.
- Form a strip of ribbon into a loop, and glue it on the back of the foam to use as a hanger.
Candy Heart Cupcake Toppers
- toothpicks (enough for one per cupcake

- royal icing (Wilton has an easy recipe.)
- conversation candy hearts
- Put a dot of royal icing onto the back of three candy hearts.
- Attach them to a toothpick starting at the top and working down.
- Make another row on the opposite side of the toothpick. Each pick should have two rows of hearts with the messages facing out.
- Insert into the cupcakes.
Candy Heart Pushpins
Treat your bulletin board to a Valentine’s Day makeover with push pins made from conversation hearts. Use them to hold up everything from today’s to-do list to a love note from your sweetheart.
Supplies
- pushpins with a flat surface
- hot glue gun
- conversation candy hearts
- Put a dot of hot glue on the end of each pushpin.
- Attach a candy heart. Hold it in place for a few seconds to allow the glue to set.
- Let dry.
